lulz.  Wish I had 5 grand.   Would definitely get me a nice F150.

I don't even have a job...bah.  I'm a victim of this piss poor economy.  Been laid off since September.  Companies still laying people off....how can I expect to find a decent job?  It definitely sucks.   This is why I'm projecting such a long time to build a mild offroader....

Heck yeah, you could get one hell of an F-150 of that year for 5k. Why don't you look into purchasing an out-of-state truck and getting it shipped or flying out and picking it up? (if the owner is certain it will make the drive, afterall, if it's build to drive all day at the dez, it's usually good to go for long distance drive)

If you saved up $5k you could probably find an f150 that has like 10k into it, plus the vehicle price, and someone just wants out of their never ending project. Happens all the time.

actually sold the giant links I bought from Ray. plan on making my own when I do link it. The giant's were the old style and not my first pick, the price was just right and I was hyped on it

so don't link it at all....and upgrade the leafs.  I'm sure it's already quite a badass truck.  I assumed a 4 link setup was best used for rock crawling anyways, for it's retarded articulation.

Or...instead....If you feel like building something on the cheap...I'll bring my coil sprung Tracker down to your place, and you can build me a Y-link or whatever for my rear diff...and some super long radius arms.  It'll be fun!
