Markville Toyota Yamaha Announces 2010 Motocross Racing Team
19 March 2010, 11:17 am

  From MPI Sports Management

Markham, ON - Markville Toyota will continue to showcase their fine line of new and pre-owned vehicles by supporting their newly expanded motocross team of four Yamaha mounted riders at CMRC and LDR MX competition events throughout Ontario in 2010.

This marks the third year in a row that Markville Toyota has endorsed motocross racing at the amateur level in Ontario maintaining their (and Toyota’s) long history of involvement in Canadian motorcycling dating back to 1983.

Returning Junior Class MX riders Jamie Both (250cc) from Sebright and Barrie’s RJ Marnoch (85cc 12-16/Supermini) will campaign their 2010 Yamahas primarily at CMRC eastern region events. Both and Marnoch each had successful seasons last year culminating in consistent performances at Walton including those as members of the winning team in the (East vs. West) Canada Cup Challenge.

Newcomer Brandon Spencer from Picton has been on the MTYMX radar screen since 2007 and he will spearhead the attack at the Eastern Series races competing as a rookie in the Junior A ranks. Dedicating time to train with the legendary Canadian “champ” Jean Sebastian Roy proved fruitful for Spencer in 2009. He took top spot on the podium last year in the 250 Junior B class riding his YZ Yamaha 2-stroke to first place in all 3 national championship races at Walton.

Jacob Balsdon from Ajax also returns, having competed at LDR events throughout 2008 and 2009. He graduates to the higher ranks of CMRC racing in 2010 and will contest the Eastern Series on a Yamaha 144 alongside Spencer for the year.

MTYMX is grateful for support provided by MPI Sports Management, Markville Toyota, Asselstine Country (Yamaha), Factory Connection Canada, Scott, Mechanix Wear, Fox, NGK, Lime Nine, Progressive Energy Lighting and Design, Energy One, Torbram Electric Supply and DeWalt Tools. The team’s fundraising initiatives are in support of SickKids Foundation and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto.
