RIP DANIEL JAMES COX 7/8/86- 3/26/08

As some of you may already be aware, the desert scene lost an awesome guy two nights ago. He was an awesome friend and a really down to earth individual. You could always find him with a smile on his face and having a good time. Him and a few others in highschool (ray, nick, and the rest of the group) reintroduced me to the desert as a teenager. I went with my parents when I was younger but I had way more fun with my friends of course. I started hanging out with Daniel in highschool computer class. It was a blast. We would lock people out of their computers or log them off using the teachers computer when he would leave class, goof around, and just have a good time. I think we even left a few times to go get food in the middle of class! We had some good times over the past few years and I really wish I would've spent more time with him when he was around. I have fond memories of him and he will most definitely be missed by all that knew him.

Most of you desert-heads may know him for his truck. He drove a lifted 4x4 Toyota with a Turbo Supra motor (7MGTE) For those of you who didn't know him, here is a short description of him in his own words (taken from his myspace, excuse the mispellings, he didnt care):

"so, I am Daniel James Cox, if i were a book, id be War and Peace. Basically because im full of endless words and sentences that could describe everything. i may never get to a point, but there is a hidden meaning behind all. Don't ask me to sum up or explain anything in one word, it wont happen. I am a extremely sensitive person, generally about most things. Im no cry baby, but whats wrong with having passion or emotions. I like conversation, but don't mind to be quite either. Silence is sometimes the hardest thing to find and holding on to it can be even harder. Most people might say that im not shy, but i am a private person who general likes his space, but intrusion sometimes is a must to get to know me. I'll regularly go out of my way to help people, because there isn't enough of it now days. Im a traditional person, who values respect and self dignity. I f I could be born any other time other then this life, I'd live in the simple times of the 40-50s. This is a time when woman, elders, public figures, and family were greatly valued and praised. I am a stickler for vintage anything, and the garage is my other home. If you don't know me at all, most people know me by my truck. I am very adventurous and don't mind pushing boundaries. So, at the end, this is as close to summing me up. If this sounds interesting, feel free to say something."

I will miss him greatly, we didn't talk or hang out as often lately as I would've liked and it kills me. He texted me a few days ago, when I hadn't talked to him in a few months.. I really wish we could've talked longer.. You will be missed greatly buddy.
